PIMNAS which stands for National Student Scientific Week is a competition for students' scientific work both at the Diploma and Bachelor level at the national level organized by the Directorate of Higher Education. This year, PIMNAS, entering its 30th year, is held in Makassar City, precisely at the Muslim University of Indonesia (UMI). This event will be held starting on August 23-28, 2017. In the 30th PIMNAS this event will compete to display a variety of student work, from various universities throughout Indonesia.

The Department of Electrical Engineering Education of the Faculty of Engineering of UNY participated in this prestigious event. Nationally, 3 teams from JPTE have been selected to qualify for the 30th PIMNAS. The team included "Education and Learning Robotic as a Solution to Overcome Children's Addiction to Games" which was commanded by Ayu Astuti's Idea with Superintendent Drs. Mutaqin, M.Pd., MT, then two teams guided by Mr. Herlambang Sigit Pramono, ST, M.Cs with the title "Smart Wi-Lift Trainner (Easy Learning Media Towards Industrial Era and IoT in Indonesia", chaired by Br. Efendi and "TOP COYS (Automated Plant Controlling Systems): Environmental Control Solutions for Chrysanthemum Cultivation in the" Astha Bunda "Kaliurang" Farmers' Association with team leader Mr. Haris Erdyanto.

According to Ide Ayu, the el-Robo team leader "Actually the el-ROBO team itself did not think that they would actually pass PIMNAS. I was not sure when waiting for the announcement seconds, but Alhamdulillah, our efforts and prayers really paid off. "

"When our title was posted in the announcement, of course our enthusiasm became more intense, so our goal was to get a gold medal.
