51 Electrical Engineering Education Students Received 2016 Faculty of Engineering Student Achievement Award

The Faculty of Engineering of Yogyakarta State University gave awards to students who have made brilliant achievements throughout 2016. These awards were embedded in a series of "Technology Fair" events held by BEM FT UNY (19-20 / 11-2016) on the KPLT FT UNY. In this award, outstanding students were awarded a charter and coaching money.

Vice Dean III of FT UNY in Student Affairs, Dr. Giri Wiyono said that this award is a form of appreciation for the hard work of the students in making the name of this institution and the nation. "Of course we hope that the students will stay motivated in competing and continue to push themselves to improve their abilities so that this can become a provision for competition in today's era," he added.

A series of achievements by FT UNY students throughout 2016 included, in the International Student Green Car Competition in Korea, the World Costume Festival in the Philippines, national champions of bridge design, robotics, food product processing, scientific writing competitions and others.

"Of course the achievements of these students are also inseparable from the role of the supervisor. So on this occasion, we on behalf of the faculty also want to give thanks for the dharma devotion in providing guidance and direction to students, "said Vice Dean III of FT UNY.

Giri Wiyono said that until near the end of this year, as many as 155 students of FT UNY had made achievements both at the local, national and international levels. Of the 155 students selected, 33 percent or 51 students came from the Department of Electrical Engineering Education. With details of 37 students from the S-1 study program in Mechatronics Engineering Education, 13 students from the S-1 study program in Electrical Engineering Education and 1 student from the D-3 study program in Electrical Engineering.

Vando Gusti Alhakim, one of the outstanding students from the Mechatronics Engineering Education Study Program said that the award agenda gave new enthusiasm to the students. "During the race, we admit that the campus always provides tangible support that drives our enthusiasm to win the championship. With this appreciation, it will certainly add to our motivation to continue to improve achievements to the international level, "said Vando who won the Regional III Indonesian Dance Robot Contest in 2016.
